This is no easy task for me..what I want for Christmas!!!!!

This is my third Christmas in the UK and after the absolute cracker of a winter we had last year, I ended up with all a girl could ask for and more!

So, in order to truly answer this question I went up Skiddaw yesterday - for those of you that don't know Skiddaw, it's a 3000+ footer just on Keswicks doorstep in the Lake District. I take this task seriously!

'I take this task seriously!'

I have Grivel G12 crampons, DMM Cirque Alpine ice axe, Deuter Guide rucksack, La Sportiva Crampon compatible boots, Mountain Equipment softshell trousers and jacket and merino wool baselayers - I'm good to go!!

Source hydration sack filled, chocolates stashed and all other necessary and life saving accoutrements checked and loaded.

After a fabulous and exhilarating day on the hill the only thing that failed me and left me wishing for something was the hose on my Source hydration sack. Despite my best attempts to keep water out of the hose (blowing it back into the sack) it froze up and left me water-less for a good few hours of the climb.

Luckily though, I had a back up plan, a husband with an insulated hose and some water to share.

So, I want an insulated hose for my hydration sack for Christmas, please!

I bet Skiddaw looked amazing with all the snow... When I was last there, we were experiencing a months rain within a day and winds of up to 60mph with 65L rucksacks on - didn't really get to see much of it really.

I need to change my "what I want for Christmas" to its not fair living on the South coast with no snow or hills/mountains.
