So you have a pee bottle in the tent and a water bottle, it's dark, your tired and you really need a drink. You reach for what you think is your water bottle, unscrew the top and take a deep drink. Oh no you just made a horrible mistake. It happens.
To make sure you never make that mistake again, wrap something textured around your pee bottle so that it not only looks but feels different to your drinking bottle. I use some 3mm cord under a thick band of gaffer tape. Works a treat.

Long life for Gaiters

To make you gaiters life that little bit longer cut a 4 inch section of tubular webbing and slide it over the strap that goes under your boot. This will protect the strap, which normally wears out first, and prolong the life of the gaiter. Replace the webbing as necessary.
