Climbing is amazing (the best sport ever). You can find climbing centres all over the world. I train at Dynamic Rock which is in Clydach, near Swansea in South Wales. I am sponsored by Cotswold Brecon which is really cool because I get a lot of support from them.

I have been climbing for three years now and for the first two and half years I climbed at Llangors Climbing Club but I left to join the Dynamic Rock team. At Dynamic Rock I have started to compete in a lot more competitions, which is what I would like to tell you a little more about.

The brics is the biggest competition of the year; we do three climbs and three boulders. At the end of each round we get told our ranking, points and positions and the top three get certificates. There are two interwall competitions and then there is a Welsh final and if you come in the top three, you go to the British Final.

I wore Evolv Bandits for the competition, they are the best shoes I’ve had, they are amazing for heel hooking and for smearing and they are particularly good at gripping small holds (buttons).

Last year in the Brics I came third in the interwall competitions and I went to the Welsh final but I did not qualify for the British Final. In the first round of interwall competitions I came first and I am hoping to get first in the next one, so fingers crossed!

In the Bristol V Swansea friendly, which was three climbs and three boulders I came first with eight points between me and another girl who was from Bristol.

In the Ruckus I came third but it was girls and boys combined and I was the top girl, the next girl finished in sixth place. The Ruckus is a bouldering competition with no climbing involved which was cool because I like to boulder.

Mark Pretty, the British Training Coach came down to Dynamic Rock and gave me an individual session and said that I could be in the British Team next year if I carry on training and climbing at this level. This is really cool for me and gives me something to work towards!

I think that everyone should go climbing, it’s amazing.
