I love: "I’m a map and compass guy at heart but I don’t mind having a bit of technological back up. That’s what the eTrex is brilliant for. I lead a lot of Duke of Edinburgh groups and this gadget is very handy then for measuring the speed at which you’re travelling and monitoring the length of your breaks. The eTrex is the simplest GPS you can buy from Cotswold.  It is possible to use it for navigation but I would always use a map and compass as my first point of reference. The eTrex comes in handy for getting you an exact location without having to rely on natural handles but for getting you accurately from A to B nothing should replace proper map and compass skills."
