Lakeland 50 Training run 38.4 kilometers from Weymouth to Kingston 5hrs 16mins:

So I set off this morning from Weymouth to run the South West Coastal path back East towards home in Poole. The path is easy to follow; you have either got the sea on your right or you have made a major screw up on your nav. Guess what? I did not have the sea on my right after about an hour and a half's running???? The path gets routed slightly away from the coast through National Trust property and the route back to the coast is not easy to find. After 20mins of searching I bit the bullet and headed directly South for the sea, through numerous nettles and wheat fields and I was soon back on course nursing more nettle stings than I would like.

35mins out withWeymouth in the background

The training runs are fairly uneventful but the weather was absolutely perfect, the views stunning and I can think of no better way of spending my Sundays.........wait a minute the pubs were open come 11am, serving ice cold beer and fine food......ok so there are alternatives. Got the food intake bang on and avoided any big sugar crashes by munching every 30mins religiously on hot shots, gels and energy bars, see the link, this stuff works.

Got one more recce to do up in the Lakes before the race so by then I will have run almost all the course apart from the first leg from the start to Howtown. I will update eveyone once its completed.
