I guess that you can never have enough gear, especially when there is new and exciting clothing and equipment coming in to the stores every year. It is very tempting to want the new bling gear but my personal Santa request would be for something that has been around the block and is fairly long in the tooth.

So if Santa is listening or if someone just feels they want to buy me a Christmas present then please get me a Hilleberg Nallo 2GT. I own and have used and abused its smaller brother the Akto for over six years now and it’s still going strong having withstood nearly every weather condition and environment you can think of. It’s been high on mountains, its seen action all over South America and the UK, its suffered several mountain marathons and it still comes back for more. The Hilleberg 2GT is made from exactly the same material, Kerlon 1200 (12 kilo tear strength) and uses the same DAC featherlite 9mm poles. The weight is not bad either for a four season 2 man tent at just 2.6kg. It comes with a huge vestibule for all you budding chef types or it’s just a great area for dumping gear you don’t want in the sleeping area.

Some of you may poo poo the price tag at £610.00. But if the tent is still going strong after 5 years, and believe me it will be, then it has just cost you £122.00 per year. Cheaper than your TV licence and so much more fun than watching the latest instalment of "Dancing on ice factor talent jungle celebrity were keeping it real init" that will be on the said TV. Think of the fun times you will have in the tent. Sofa or tent the choice is obvious.
