MATT:

Skated a quick 14 miles into Exeter in the morning on really rough roads but I was feeling ok. Had some juice then kicked off towards Okehampton along the old A30 road which was nice. It was all relatively smooth, some big hills but the downhills were smooth and fast which made up for the savage ups. There was an awesome hill into Okehampton, the sign said 15% for ¾ mile and it was butter smooth and dead straight. Awesome fun! Just half tucked and carved down the whole thing, no braking til the traffic lights at the bottom! And its shut in August so I think I’m gonna go back and see how fast it is. I think I’m gonna have to do the whole trip again in the van just to skate all the hills that we’ve seen! The road got all rough after Okehampton except for one sweet one down to Polson Bridge where we crossed into Cornwall. Feels as though we’re close to the end now, but we still have to take it easy especially as tomorrow’s weather forecast is persistent heavy rain with risk of flooding. Wednesday is going to be wet too, so that’ll be nice for the finish. Bloody weather.
