On the 13th July 2009 Steve Hughes set off on an epic 20hour train journey from Southampton, the first ordeal in his epic 1200mile trek from John o Groats to Lands End.

Steve is now well over the 1000mile mark and somewhere near Okehampton, and in a few weeks he wil be at the end of his marathon trek where staff from Cotswold Southampton will be waiting to congratulate him, no doubt with a pint and a meal at the nearest pub.

You can follow Steves story so far and read about the places he has been and the people he has met on his website, www.steveslongwalk.org.  His account of his journey and the people he has met makes for great reading and Steve has even contemplated a book upon his return.

Steve was supported with a lot of help and advice from Cotswold Southampton who supplied most of his kit for the mammoth trek, and Steve has promised to review all his gear for us and for future customers - watch this space for these appearing on this site soon.

However, Steve's charities Cancer Research and the British Heart Foundation still need help in getting him to his £10,000 sponsorship target.  If you want to donate to Steves very worthy cause you can visit his website and follow the link for his justgiving page.
