The nights are drawing in fast now but with new season clothing in store and some great events with Alan Hinkes and Heather Morning, we've everything you need to get out and about and take the winter as your friend, not your foe!!

Our Edinburgh store has a vast range of outdoor clothing, equipment and accessories from well known brands such as Berghaus, The North Face, Helly Hansen, Mountain Equipment, Scarpa, Meindl, Salomon and many more, as well as a selection of 'apres outdoor' brands such as Animal, Joules and Weird Fish. So if you're keen on walking in the Highlands, or planning a Winter mountaineering trip in Norway, or even further afield, our store in Edinburgh will be able to help.

Our Edinburgh store is ideally situated in bustling Rose Street, in sight of the Castle and is perfect for people travelling into the city as we are located not far from Waverley Station.

Outdoor enthusiasts
We have staff from a wide and varied outdoors background that are keen to offer helpful advice. So whether you're about to go and climb Ben Nevis in the Highlands for the first time, go Winter mountaineering in the Cairngorms or travel off to the far side of the world, we've got the staff that can help make choosing the right equipment easier. We also like to hear your stories and we learn a lot from customer feedback. So if you have a story to tell, or can advise us on techniques and gear you have used then feel free to drop in - we'd love to see you.

Want to trial any of our products at home?
No problem. In fact we recommend you do. Pay for your new gear and you can trial it at home at your leisure. We think it's especially important to trial footwear at home, but also jackets, rucksacks, electronics - you name it. All we ask is that if you decide you don't want to keep your purchase you return it as new in the original packaging and retain your receipt.

Local events happening in your area

Experienced staff from Cotswold Outdoor, Rose Street Edinburgh will be attending the World Challenge Conference at Telford College, Edinburgh on Saturday May 12th. Local retired surgeon and mountain enthusiast Jean Turner is mounting an expedition to Mera Peak, Nepal Himalaya, in November of this year.
