Welcome
Since opening, we have built a unique and friendly atmosphere within our store. We aim to appeal to all members of the outdoor community, from walkers and mountaineers to paddlers and cavers, and at all levels from total beginners to the most experienced. Our store team have a wealth of knowledge, built upon from their experiences of travel and adventure. So whether you're looking for advice on the best routes in the Beacons or kitting yourself out for your next trip to the Alps, we've got the staff to help you make the right choices.

Location
Our store is ideally situated in the market town of Brecon, which is famed for its ancient Cathedral, its Georgian architecture and its Jazz festival, held annually every August. Brecon town nestles in the shadow of the Beacons and is a popular holiday base for those seeking adventures in the hills and surrounding areas. Located on the crossroads at the corner of the Struet, we are a 2 minute walk down the hill from the Tourist Information centre. There are also two public car parks available at the rear of the store.

Boot fitting
Our staff team are extremely knowledgeable and are more than happy to spend time with each individual to ensure best fit and that the most appropriate footwear is found. Some of our staff team have further developed their knowledge of boot fitting, in order that they can help customers with a whole range of boot difficulties. If you feel you could benefit from this extra knowledge, please contact the store to arrange to see one of these team members.

Our library
Our well-stocked library has one of the most comprehensive collections of outdoor books and DVDs in Wales. In addition to the complete range of Lonely Planet Guides, we carry a wide selection of climbing and walking guides (not just to Wales and the UK, but to Europe and the rest of the world as well). We also stock a whole host of books on outdoor skills and techniques, and a fascinating collection of narrative, adventure travel, and biographical books.

We also stock the complete set of Ordnance Survey Landranger and BMC maps, have a huge selection of OS Explorer maps (both paper and laminated) and carry a wide selection of Harvey maps. If you cannot find the book, map or DVD you want, just ask a member of our staff team and we'll see if we can get it for you.

Supporting local groups
We are pleased to be able to support local groups and events with an affiliation to the outdoors. We can provide a venue for your group's AGM meeting, kit talks and shopping evenings exclusively for your group whereby we can help you with all of your needs. During a kit talk we can tailor informative sessions based around the kit that you require on your expedition. if coming into the store is not possible with your group then it may be possible to bring the kit talk to you. details of which would be arranged on a case by case basis. Other aspects that we may be able to help with is sponsorship for an outdoor affiliated event. If you are organising a local event or you run a local club and think that we may be able to help, please contact the store and speak to our Local Marketing Representative, who will be happy to help.
