As one of the biggest events in the expedition calendar, the annual Royal Geographical Society’s expedition and fieldwork planning weekend (18th - 20th November) is a must for leading explorers and field scientists.

Explore 2011 is designed to inspire explorers, both young and old, as well as offering a forum to make great contacts and new friends. Attendees also have the chance to talk to outdoor professionals and experienced explorers to get some invaluable expert advice for their next adventure. The event, which is held at the RGS in Kensington, London, whincludes lectures and workshops with a host of inspiration speakers.

What the Royal Geographical Society say about Explore 2011: “The emphasis is on small projects with a research component but anyone planning an overseas expedition or fieldwork is welcome.  Even if you don’t have a firm idea for your expedition, then don’t worry, there will be an eclectic mix of people to help you over the weekend.”
